3 Legged Thing has announced the LevelHed, a new levelling base for tripods. It builds on the original 3 Legged Thing Levelling Base with some refinements resulting from customer feedback.
The 3-Legged Thing LevelHed can be used with any tripod that has a 3/8″ -16 screw mount to transform it into a levelling base tripod – a popular accessory for video shooting. It enables subtle adjustments to the camera’s angle to get the horizon level without the need to adjust the leg length or angle. It’s particularly useful when panning as the horizon stays level as the camera is moved.

Thanks to a raised mounting platform, it’s easier to mount and adjust clamps or tripod heads on the LevelHed than with the original Levelling Base. Consequently, it’s compatible with a wider range of accessories than the original base.
In addition, the bubble level is in a metal ring that can be rotated around the top of the LevelHed, making it more likely to be visible when a camera is mounted. The bubble level on the original Levelling Base is in a fixed location.

A ratcheted knob is on hand to lock and unlock the levelling mechanism, while a knurled knob allows the 360-degree panning movement to be released or tightened.
The 3 Legged Thing LevelHed is available in two colourways: Metallic Slate Grey with Copper (orange) accents and Darkness (matte black).
3 Legged Thing LevelHed Price and Availability
